The wall of the gallbladder is composed of a mucosa (M),
muscularis (Mu) and serosa (Se). The mucosa is thrown into
numerous folds. The muscularis consists of interlacing bundles
of smooth muscle. The serosa consists of irregular dense
connective tissue through which the artery (A), vein (V), and
lymphatic vessel (LV) travel; and containing abundant adipose
tissue.
