The ducts are surrounded by a loose connective tissue (LCT), and together, the ducts and surrounding connective tissue constitute a lobule (L). Beyond the lobule, the connective tissue is the dense connective tissue (DCT). Characteristically, the dense connective tissue contains numerous aggregates of adipocytes (A).
